Nine days after anti-Donald Trump student protesters interrupted the first “PSU Students For Trump” meeting, supporters of the leading Republican presidential candidate returned the favor and confronted an anti-Trump rally on the Portland State campus, with the help of right-wing conspiracy theorists from Infowars.
The anti-Trump folks met at 1:30 at Urban Center Plaza on the PSU campus. The pro-Trump folks met outside the PSU student union building, and marched the few blocks together to confront their adversaries soon after. Each side yelled at the other from opposite ends of the plaza for a few minutes before approaching each other and yelling face-to-face.
Infowars’ Joe Biggs used his megaphone to chastise the anti-Trump crowd for shutting down the April 7 PSU Students For Trump meeting. Most of the Infowars crowd used their phones to live-stream the event. People yelled at each other for about a half hour, before the pro-Trump crowd, led by Biggs, marched around the PSU campus. The anti-Trump crowd followed in a counter-protest of the counter-protest.

The average “Liberal” in Portland is an absolute nutcase, and has absolutely ZERO common sense in this situation. You don’t even realize that YOU are the NAZI’s! YOU are the FASCISTS! I am a Native-Portlander, and actually a life-long democrat, and have registered republican specifically for Trump. I am ashamed at how you “proud” ignorant people circumvent free speech. You don’t even want dialogue. You just want to shut shit down. It shows just how weak your position is, and how fragile your argument is. well at least Trump is putting some fire back into people!! I like the guy for that. Screw bernie and his good intentions. Good intentions without identifying a real cause is more dangerous than someone who is at least honest about being an ass. No wall street is not to blame for our problems, we are. Embrace a culture of alienation in which we produce more, consume more, reuse nothing, throw it all away, then blame wall street? Please, the rich just capitalize off our incredible inefficiency.
…but no this is not what poli sci books mean when they recurrently say the same thing; Americans are not engaged in actual deliberations. Actually these petty demonstrations at PSU are completely void of intelligent discussion.
