"PARADE"--For centuries, May Day has fallen under oppressive thumbs. Originally a pagan holiday celebrating the first spring planting, the Catholic Church kiboshed their medieval pole dancing. In more modern times, May Day has been a rallying point for assorted workers' rights. Planners for this year's celebration are trying to peacefully step out from the long shadow cast from last year's whomping. Be safe, people! PB
