Located in the Jupiter Hotel complex, the Doug Fir Lounge -located below the restaurant and bar, is like a super-cool log cabin bunker from the future. Playing host to some of the best touring and local bands it is by far one of the most unique music venues in the pacific northwest.

Restaurant Details

Ohh, the Doug Fir. Where would East Burnside be without this bar/diner/music venue/hotel metroplex? The gorgeous log cabin-themed diner hosts a variety of musical events on their lower level, so you can see a show, drink a cosmo, and eat a "Fir Burger" all at the same place, then pass out in a swank room at the Jupiter Hotel just next door. The popular happy hour boasts some of the best cheap bar food in town, but get there early if you want to get a seat, because the lounge fills up quick with well-heeled urbanites.

Service @ Doug Fir used to suck HARD. And the food, once you finally got it, wasn't much to write home about. Now, it seems that both have improved considerably, and while neither is TOPS, both are pretty passable. Before and after shows, you'll get what you want.

The breakfast at the Doug Fir is pretty standard fare but consistent, the Bloody Marys are tasty and I have NEVER had to wait for a table! On a morning when you've gotta have your eggs NOW, skip the lines on Alberta eateries and head directly to The Fir...

The only thing keeping this place a float is the music venue, because the punkass service "think I am special" attitude has gotten them nowhere. For you dicks that drive in from Beaverton to get your cool on, FUCK YOU go to the Dublin Pub and shut the fuck up.

Re: “Maria Taylor, Johnathan Rice and Nik Freitas

Johnathan Rice isn't worth the way to small pants he puts on in the morning.

Look, I can appreciate that it's busy on a Friday night at the bar, and that being a bartender can be stressful. I tried to help my brother and best friend order their drinks because it was totally loud and the bartender snapped at me "Oh no, DON'T order drinks for other people." Pretty much like he was scolding some child.

I wish I hadn't said I was sorry, because when my friend ordered her drink, he told her to use her "big girl voice," like a totally snide, condescending dick.

Sorry girl - I know there are way worse bartender horror stories in this town, but it was my fucking birthday, and it was a generally shitty way to be talked to. When someone is rude to me and my friends, it reminds me of how many places in Portland I can give my money and time to, and not have to be talked to like a child.
