Continuing the revitalization of the lower Morrison/Belmont area, Green Dragon brings a large and unique variety of ales, lagers and lambics (both local and international) to the area and will soon be brewing their own as well. A large industrial space is split with a cavernous bar on one side and a cozier bistro on the other, with bistro offerings a step and a half up from your usual pub eats

We went for dinner around 8pm Saturday. The food was mediocre for the price, the service was terrible and it was very cold inside. I hope they improve once they get it more together.
Once past the folks right outside the door smoking, you enter and right off the bat you can't figure the place out. Do they work here or do they have special permission to stand behind the counter and ignore me? I sit at the bar and greeted by a upset woman who would rather talk about how hungry she is instead of help me feel welcome. The space seems like it was designed by someone that doesn't know how to organize their garage/or their life for that matter. I particularly loved the glow of the pinball machines in the musicians eyes, cause the machines are like six fucking feet away from the mike, for fuck sake have you, designer of the space, no ideal what your doing, oh wait you obviously don't. The space cold and unwelcoming. The beers that I had were tasty, I don't even know if they made them - cause who I think was the bartender didn't want to tell I guess. Their menu is overpiced and meat-centric, probably someones mom's betty crocker recipes - just called something fancy and priced at like fifteen bucks. I can't believe folks waste so many resources on establishing places like this to waste my time or yours for that matter. I will not be back.
So yeah, I took my date over to this brew pub and had a good time. The bartenders were attentive, knowledgeable and the atmosphere was inviting and relaxing. A few things I loved about the place was the portions. You could easily feed two people from one plate, the beer list was amazing the rotation of taps makes it fun. Where else can you go in Portland that allows you a taste of great beers without leaving the city? If you love beer (really love it) take your date here. We loved it, the food was good, the beer was great and the folks were friendly.
Another boring concrete box. Beer can be good wherever, the ambiance of this place makes me want to go somewhere else.
I have no idea what the other reviewers where expecting, but my first experience here was fantastic. Friendly service at lunch time and the Buffalo Burger was awesome. I had it with the soup which was also good. I had a Czekvar with my meal. The ambiance is a bit industrial as is the trend these days, but it was great. Going back to eat there today for lunch.
