I like this place because it's the only spot I know where I can eat dinner, work on a novel, drink some wine, and listen to amazing live jazz all in the same night. The food is amazing, but the ambience blows me away. The selection of magazines lining the wall makes for good reading while eating the tasty crepes, too.
This place was lame, It looks and feels like Ikea. The wireless was decent, but when I went to review some magazines on the wall that I was looking to purchase. The emo-clerk was rude and snotty.
This place had delicious coffee, delicious crepes, and delicious sandwiches. I had the John Steinbeck tonight and was very pleased, as always. They have great hours.
The food is really good! The Mort Walker crepe, with brie and walnuts, is deeee-licious.
The service is prompt but distant. That's fine, though I did feel a bit judged one day when I loitered for the WiFi for too long (the Internet hadn't kicked in in my new apartment).
My fiance has the same impression of The Press Club as Clark: that it's pre-fab. I don't get it. I like the decor -- the tables in particular.
The breakfast sandwiches are amazing, the coffee is awesome, and the service is just misunderstood. They're not standoffish (as I too thought at first), they're just a little shy and they don't get up in your face. I consider them "discrete."
