During the summer, the simplest way to earn cash without taking off your clothes or wielding a clipboard is to pedal your way to tips on a pedicab. Veteran Portland Pedicab driver Thomas de Almeida shares an epic story about bringing in the bucks:

"I had just finished giving a ride to Goose Hollow on a beautiful summer night in 2007 when Greg Oden—who I didn't recognize—and a lady friend flagged down my cab and we rode down the Waterfront. He was very interested in my life, my world as a cyclist. We got to the Salmon Fountain and he was like, 'I don't have any cash on me!' So we stopped by an ATM, and he got out of my cab, and I said, 'Damn, you're tall! You should play for a basketball team!' He was like, 'Yeah.' He grabbed this wad of $20s and gave me the majority of it. He tipped me $280!"
