I don't exactly have my finger on the pulse of Portland's cycling community, but I've yet to hear a single person voice concerns about Portland not having bike share.
Bike share isn't aimed at the cycling community; those people already have their own bikes. It's aimed more at people who used to use fareless square to get around during the daytime (including but not limited to tourists). Or at least, it should be if they want to do it successfully.
If we are going to throw money at a losing business venture, I wish it would be at least geared for Portlanders.
So people are going to bike around the former fareless square for double what it would cost to ride the max or bus? Anyone who wants to ride a bike around downtown can easily do so now.
