GOOD MORNING, PORTLAND! There's a dark secret in me. Don't leave me locked in your heart. LET'S GO TO PRESS.

In case you somehow missed the shit show of the Kavanaugh hearing yesterday, we documented it all for posterity with our live blog. Check here for Christine Blasey Ford's emotional, brave testimony, and here if you like to read smart-assy comments about horrible, misogynistic Republicans. WHAT A CHOICE.

(Oh, and click here if you'd rather just take care of yourself in this occasionally horrible world.)

If you need the short version, Christine Blasey Ford was incredibly brave and composed in an almost impossible situation, and America noticed. Meanwhile, Kavanaugh was desperately angry, on the verge of losing control, and avoided answering questions at all costs, blaming his troubles on a conspiracy between his accusers, Democrats, and the media. Sounds like just the kind of level-headed person we need on the Supreme Court!

At this hour, it appears that the Judicial Committee has enough votes (thanks to the back-stabbing Jeff Flake) to advance Kavanaugh to a full Senate vote. Meanwhile Democrats on the Committee have walked out in protest of this entire embarrassing sham of a process.

Hey, were you wondering why the GOP's hand-picked sex crimes prosecutor, who was supposed to question Ford and Kavanaugh, suddenly disappeared from yesterday's hearing? Here's why.

Even the American Bar Association believes that the Senate should hold off voting on Kavanaugh until the FBI can thoroughly investigate the charges.

The NYT editorial board lays out a strong case as to why Christine Blasey Ford's testimony was believable, and Kavanaugh's definitely wasn't.

Sen. Lindsey Graham and other Republicans discovered that, during yesterday's hearings, their personal information (including address and phone numbers) were added to their Wikipedia pages.

And here's a startling piece of news you may have missed yesterday along with all the other news: "S.E.C. Sues Tesla’s Elon Musk for Fraud and Seeks to Bar Him From Running a Public Company."

Oh, and if you were wondering what happened with that supposed meeting between Trump and Rod Rosenstein, the president has kicked that particular can out until next week.

New York airport workers have successfully won the highest minimum wage in America at $19 per hour.

MEANWHILE, CLOSER TO HOME... A Portland International Airport baggage handler has been arrested for stealing guns out of passengers' luggage.

Oregon gubernatorial candidates are weighing in on Kavanaugh, with Kate Brown saying he should be rejected and Republican Knute Buehler calling for an FBI investigation into the allegations.

A Clackamas County Sheriff's sergeant has received a $235,000 settlement after being harassed by the department for whistle-blowing on a dirty cop. DIBS ON MOVIE RIGHTS! (Too late... I called dibs.)

Now let's check the WEATHER: Okay guys, after today? Summer's over FOR REAL. Sunny and a high of 85.

And finally... it's been a hard week, friends. This is me (and hopefully you) leaving work for the weekend.
