Former Oregon comic/”human storm of delight” Ron Funches has been killing it since moving to LA, at least according to all the “comics to watch” lists he keeps cropping up on.
Now, from Deadline Hollywood:
Actor-comedian Ron Funches (Disney XD’s Crash & Bernstein) has been added to the NBC/WBTV comedy pilot Undateable, about a group of date-challenged friends whose lives are forever altered when a more confident character (Chris D’Elia) enters their world. Funches, repped by APA, Truhett Garcia Management and attorney Lev Ginsburg, plays Shelly, an odd, shy musician member of the group whose appeal to women comes to life when he’s performing.
The bad news for Portland is that Funches canceled his Portland date this week at Mississippi Studios, and he’s not coming to Bridgetown, so no word on when Portland will get another chance to see him. The good news is… he’s a super talented comedian who deserves the success he’s got coming to him. Congrats, Funches! We knew you when.

Ron’s killing it down in LA, I saw a couple of his sets at Meltdown and UCB.
Would love to see him in Portland sometime.
Doubt the pilot will make it, most of them don’t, and this one sounds pretty bad. Maybe he can carry it.
Visiting his inlaws is like going to Wal-Mart.
If he’s still doing essentially the same set from three years ago, I’m happy that he’s doing well in LA… but we don’t need to see the same thing all over again.
Yeah but who is his attorney.
SELL OUT1!11!!!1
Don’t be so bossy drunk & write, you can’t make Ron sell out if he doesn’t want to.
