Oh noes! Someone is spoofing the Portland police on the internets! Sensing a lack of humor in the official @PortlandPolice twitter feed, someone has gone and set up a Twitter account called “pdxpolice”. Unlike the unofficial Columbia River Crossing twitterer, the fake police feed is actually really funny.

And for some reason this most recent tweet makes me laugh even though it’s just a cops-love-to-eat joke. Maybe it’s just that the word “cheeseburger” is always funny?

KPTV and WW posted about the feed recently, with KPTV offering this comment from the police: “the operator of the account likely would not face charges of impersonating an officer.” So… tweet away fake officer!

Sarah Shay Mirk reported on transportation, sex and gender issues, and politics at the Mercury from 2008-2013. They have gone on to make many things, including countless comics and several books.
