In the Winter of 2014, I lost control of my motorcycle and went head first into a tree. After being rushed to the hospital, I was diagnosed with a traumatic brain injury, among other things (broken bones, road rash…etc). My symptoms were as follows: a change in mental status with my IQ lowering to the level of an 8th grader, extreme mood swings, profound confusion, temper tantrums, illogical reasoning, greed, a feeling of fear and paranoia, a childlike understanding of the world, and a strong craving for greasy foods and highly caffeinated carbonated drinks. My rehabilitation was long and arduous, but I managed to get through it, although most of my symptoms are permanent. I was hoping to be released on NYE, but ended up coming home yesterday. The very first thing I asked my family to do was drive me to the County Elections Office so that I could immediately register as a Republican.

  1. I/A glad you survived. My husband broke his leg in similar accident, right after we moved here. The first thing he did was eat two pizzas and pain pills and slept for days after getting out of the hospital.
Thank the precious baby Jesus he didn’t think about being a Republican. He is annoying enough.

  2. The injury causing severe brain damage and visions of right wing grandeur are quite common. Most Republican conservitudists have had similar traumas. Have you noticed yourself feeling more privaliged and less sympathetic and even down right angry at say…the homeless or charity workers? Are you finding Gays, Latins, Asians anyone a little different than you repulsive? You are right these symptoms are permanent. I’m awfully sorry for you. Whoops I pushed a hot button there. Kindness is criminal isn’t it?

  3. A late night talk monologue joke that goes on far too long as a shaggy dog story and tries way too hard. Not too mention that I Anon needs a brain injury. Not a TBI, just a run of the mill knockout concussion, some dizziness nausea and headaches for a little while.
