[Got an anonymous confession or rant you just have to share with the world? Submit it to I, Anonymous HERE!—eds]

I work in a retirement community, and sometimes visitors try to tip us, even those of us who don’t work in dining. Which is very sweet, but we cannot accept tips.

And when I say, “That’s kind of you, but I’m not allowed to accept tips,” insisting on it is actually super fucking rude.

Some of y’all will only stop when I point out that I literally have a camera aimed at me. Why the hell would I refuse your tip if my job wasn’t on the line? No means no. If I say I can’t accept tips, I can’t accept tips.

If you want to do something extra to thank us for doing a good job, call management and tell them. It might even lead to a bigger yearly pay increase, which will earn us far more than the $5 you’re trying to hand us.—Anonymous
