To all the staunch assholes out there who have decided that the
hookers need to be booted from Craigslist: What the hell did the
hookers ever do to you? In this economy, I imagine the hookers are the
only ones really making a buck. Is that it? Let’s all suffer together
in misery? Here are a few things to contemplate before we take away the
free hooker ads from Craigslist: Hookers keep divorce lawyers in
business. Hookers do not have any threat of being laid off. Hookers
will not be sucking off the unemployment fund that is slowly depleting.
Hookers boost morale. Hookers are very rarely the cause of violent
attacks on Craigslist. Maybe we should be looking at eliminating the
Casual Encounters section. This is their livelihood. Let a ho make a
buck, why don’t you?

The people who want the hookers off craigslist [and off the streets and off the internet] are the same people who want to throw people in jail for pot to scare their own kids out of trying it, the same people who want all the cuss & near-cuss words not only bleeped but the mouths of cussers blurred even on cable TV which was originally sold to us as TV that didn’t have to abide puritan language restrictions, and who desperately want the right to censor the lyrics of music and the entire internet to “protect the children”. Fuck all of that – children either are too immature to understand sexy naughtiness or they find it funny in the same way they find farts funny. Children don’t have the money to hire hookers, so it’s not even in the category of “protecting the children” that the puritans claim to be acting to promote.
Anyone whose body has reached sexual maturity should be allowed to arrange who to fuck & in what circumstances however they want, whether it’s $20 per bj, or my virginity & housecleaning services for a lifetime of free rent.
Keep the criminal justice system out of citizens’ sex lives.
