i went to see the decemberists and i don’t give a shit whether you like them or not. i do. they are local, and actually care about their lyrics. whatever.
my row mate stood up to dance. her choice. i wasn’t so moved but after the fucking ‘no dance’ police came down and asked her to stop 3 times and threatened to boot her i was like WTF? i stood up in solidarity and verbally encouraged others around me to as well and the fucking douche in from me told me to ‘shut the fuck up’.
i haven’t ever seen that fucking movie with kevin bacon (shut it, who cares if i haven’t, i get the idea) but it felt like that crappy movie. now we can’t go to a fucking rock concert and dance?
fuck you keller auditorium (and that dick in front of me). if i want to shake my fat ass at a concert i paid a lot of money for, how dare you suppress my given rights to do so? what is this, the fucking symphony?

Unless rows upon rows of seats are now considered an open dance floor, I will have to echo that guy’s sentiment. Yes, anon, you—shut the fuck up. And no more wine coolers for you and that row mate of yours.
I know, right? People just want to dance and, like, fuck the po-leese, man! Portland peoples’ pinkies picking puckered panties.
What a moron, you paid a lot to hear this group. So did everyone else at the concert. Maybe your row girl was loud, off key and gyrating to a beat she heard. After three times, you should get the hint. Irritating as hell….
“Row mate”?? You sound like the kind of ass who says “no worries”. All. Damn. Day.
Glad to know you’re in solidarity with IA.
This happens to me every time I dance at a funeral. (And most funerals are more lively than a Decemberists concert, I’d guess.)
Can you say White people problems?
This situation is on the front cover of the manual for them.
lol Decemberists fans
Do they frown on foot tapping as well?
Man, times have changed…when I used to see the Decemberists back in the day the crowds were just a unstoppable mass of writhing bodies twisting and turning while they got freaky to the heavy sounds of that funky-ass Decemberist beat–along with an intense mosh pit and stage diving.
On second thought, I might be thinking of a different band.
If she was the only one up and dancing, that’s annoying as hell. If most were up and dancing, okay then. I can’t picture it at a Decemberists concert (I picture everyone on a saline drip, really). But you always have the ONE who has got to ruin shit for everyone else and boy did she find a buddy in you. And, the Keller? Really. That ain’t no mosh pit, son.
Down in front!
Deezus – if you can use the word “funky” then you are definitely thinking of a different band.
When it comes to concerts in this town, the motto appears to be “Keep Portland Seated.”
The Schnitz also has a no dancing policy. I don’t go to non-symphony shows there anymore.
I partied my ass off to Earth Wind & Fire at the Rose Garden. I needed a hip replacement the next day but no one told me to sit down. Depends on the venue I guess.
Everybody cut, everybody cut!
Why do many such bands just strike me as an American version of Belle and Sebastion?
That double tapered turd of an IA ended before it began. The decemberists? Are you kidding me?
