Mayor Sam Adams has returned to work this morning, having to make his way through a media scrum to get into council chambers for a joint meeting with the Metro Regional Council on how many lanes the Columbia River Crossing should have.

KEEP YOUR ENEMIES CLOSER: ADAMS DID NOT APPEAR TO BE ACKNOWLEDGED BY CITY COMMISSIONER RANDY LEONARD AS LEONARD TOOK HIS SEAT…

Commissioner Dan Saltzman is at a meeting on education, and will hold a 3pm press conference on Saturday night’s shooting, at the downtown Justice Center. Meanwhile, City Commissioner Nick Fish is appearing at a press conference with Senator Ron Wyden, to announce a percentage of the federal stimulus package to be set aside for affordable housing here in Portland.

  1. Does all of this means Dan Savage has returned to his happy little burg up north? That’d make me very happy. His involvement added nothing in my view.

  2. Crap. This is where we go back to the brilliant plan of building a new $4 billion bridge meant to last for the next 80 years wihtout any additional lanes. Oh, and a toll.

Maybe talking about sleaze isn’t so bad after all.

  3. I think Matt Davis has done the best job covering this story off all the media!

Thorough, comprehensive, hard hitting, AND I LOVE THE BATHROOM SHOT!

MATT DAVIS WOULD MAKE A GREAT MAYOR!

  4. See the best part of Sam Adams coming back to work is that the right wingers ARE LOSING THEIR MINDS RIGHT NOW!

And that, is worth the whole episode!

    THANK YOU SAM!

Because the destruction of a once-solid voting bloc on Council isn’t REAL news? You and I may not like it, but Sam’s effectiveness as our City’s leader will rightly be as much of the news in the next year as the issues themselves. And that is the fallout of his behavior (lying) that people should be concerned about. Note that Leonard isn’t chapped because of the sex; he’s pissed because he can’t trust Sam anymore.

Wow…really? Ha. Matt, you should photograph him walking by that bathroom every day and post it up here.
