Danava has released a trailer for their upcoming third album, Hemisphere of Shadows, evoking an old 16mm print of a ’70s grindhouse horror movie—right down to the synth arpeggios and blast of riffage at the clip’s end. I’m not quite sure how they made it look so authentic (even down to the typeface), but I’m hooked; there’s an eerie vibe that’s a perfect match for Danava’s stoned-out space rock. (And just what is going on with those oddly garbed people on the beach? Questions, questions.) Curiousity will be slaked when Hemisphere of Shadows comes out October 4; in the meantime, Danava plays a free show tonight at Mississippi Studios.

End Hits: Move over, Goblin.

  1. I’ve noticed that most of their shoes seem to be free. And I think that’s cool! They’re in it to rock, not make $50 here and there.
