Kevin Spacey has become an international star thanks to his turn as Frank Underwood in Netflix’s House of Cards—so it’s not much of a surprise that he’d land a TV commercial in China. But this? This is just bizarre! In this commercial for the Chinese online shopping holiday called “Singles Day,” Spacey re-creates his Frank Underwood role to sell burner phones, presidential M&Ms, and trench coats… which is a bit of a spoiler alert if you haven’t been closely following House of Cards. Maybe this ad is a big hit in China, but I think it’ll make you say, “Ummmmm… WHAT.”

Bang bang, choo-choo train, let me see you shake that thang. Wm. Steven Humphrey is the editor-in-chief of the Portland Mercury and has held the job since 2000. (So don’t get any funny ideas.)
