If you're in the mood to see a show/DJ, check out some local art and hang with the cool kids in one of 3 rooms on 2 levels the East End (owned and run by local band members) just may be the place. They also have a menu of primarily (but not exclusively) vegetarian eats with such items as; fried ravioli, a carrot ginger soy burger, a bacon sandwich, fish & chips and other quality edibles. Let's see... what else... They have a photo booth(!) and 2 bars with totally rock 'n' roll-named drinks. The rest you'll just have to find out for yourself.

I love the food at East End. The French Onion soup rules! The home made pot stickers I love. But the Tacos are amazing!!
Along with the Dream Syndicate, Rain Parade,
Green on Red & Long Ryders, True west formed
the foundation of the 80's west coast psychedelic movement known as the Paisley Underground. This should be a great show!
Agreed. True West are one of the great guitar-indie bands of the '80's and smoked when they played their reunion show in Portland 2 years ago.
If you love dual guitar work reminiscent of Tom Verlaine & Richard Lloyd of Television, you have got to see this band.
also playing that night is Welfare State, the debut gig of the band that consists of a few members of the local band Crack City Rockers. Really looking forward to hearing the new tunes.
its going to be one helluva show.
see you there,
Steve
True West is also doing an in-store performance at Music Millennium at 3158 E. Burnside on Sat Aug 23rd at 5 pm.

P.S. That Russ and Gavin are ...dreamy : )
cute drummer, too !
The Knast was great, but started really late. It seemed like they were pissed off at everyone in the room, too. The Pink Snowflakes (The reason for going to the show) were in top form. Ripping through a hot set and setting the stage for The Family Gun. The Family Gun proceeded to Shit all over the stage with their Poser Schlock.
