You-Guy Ferrari looking Gresham dude at NE Broadway 7-11.
Him-Handicapped, mentally.
Me-judgemental jerk.
Scenario- Handicapped fellow was trying to buy something from you and the total was adding up to more than he had. You told him,” the total is 5.46, you’ve only got 4.50″. The gentleman behind the counter was having a hard time mathematically and didn’t have the required funds to complete the transaction. Then an angel spoke. You said to him, ” don’t worry about it, you can get me back next time”. He was extremely grateful and while putting away his goods, you added,” you stay out of trouble now, you hear” in a joking/you two had a secret kind of way. This made his night as he laughed out loud and thanked you again.
I judged you that night Guy Ferrari guy, and after witnessing such a sweet transaction of humanity and selflessness, I went home and cried. Those few moments were human perfection to me, a brief glimpse of how I wish the world could be all the time.
I think of what happened often, and it warms my soul.
Thank you Guy Ferrari guy.
