I’m still a new comer to Oregon. It’s a beautiful state with the Cascade range, Columbia River Gorge and our lovely pacific shore. It’s still a state like any other though, filled with political corruption and real nit-wits running and getting elected. I start at the top. Our governor Clyde Barrow Kitzhaber and 1st live-in lover Bonnie Parker Hayes. This team has stolen more dinero than Bonnie or Clyde ever dreamed of. But, Oregon voters keeps punching the chad for the most corrupt and the more obvious the better. It’s four times for Daddy Kitz and twice with his muse Slippery Cylvia along for the ride. I think she really feels that by being a paramour and not a wife, she can wheel and deal at will with tax evasion and influence peddling, with a cute little wink and an “I’ll talk to ma main man about that, if we have a deal” ,with no reprisal. Kitz insults us by answering direct accusatory questions about this disgrace with flippant smart ass answers that only magnify his I’m above the law attitude.

I’m pretty sure his role model is Gov Edwin Edward’s of Louisiana. He couldn’t stop getting elected, stealing and making outrageous statements like “The only way I’ll lose this election is if they catch me in bed with dead girl or a live boy”. He married a young gal after he was released from jail, and The Governor’s Wife was a hit reality show for a run. Get ready Oregon, we’re gonna be on TV again.

  1. I’m no fan of the governor and his “lady”either, but I find your strangely detailed descriptions of wrongdoing somewhat…overzealous and unnecessarily obsessive, for a recently arrived resident.
Are you prescribed psychotherapy or from the San Diego area, by chance?

  2. Finally, an intellectual, and truly open minded voice from inside Occupied Territory! Now, all you need to open the minds of Portlanders, is a crowbar!

  3. Usually the shit around here comes from the minds of the very young. I for one would like to welcome this poster, who almost certainly -I’d say by the nicknames and use of ‘dinero’- is eighty-plus years old.

  4. Any time you criticize Kitzhaber you’ll be met with “BUT WHAT ABOUT DUBYA?????” You can’t win in Oregon. They’re destined to vote in whoever is a Democrat no matter how corrupt they are. The only chance of hope is that it’ll become ‘ironic’ to support logical, level headed politicians who identify as Republican or *gasp* even Independent.

HAHAH BUT FUCK ALL THAT NOISE HILLARY 2016 IT’LL BE SO DIFFERENT THIS TIME AROUND!!! NO SERIOUSLY GUYS, HOPE AND CHANGE IS FORREAL THIS TIME!

  5. ^ Someone call the retard police, we’ve got a live one here.

Assisse, I promise not to press charges if you seek asylum in Wyoming.

  6. Reality shows can’t compete with real life. I know this Honey Boo boo/Kardashians /Judds’ Entertainment is the start of the problem. Their Dog Tess is so cute. I hope these two crazy kids get married before they find out their related.

  7. Why should Oregon be any different? You never adequately addressed that question. Perhaps Oregon would be different if we tried electing natives of the state instead of imports like Kitzhaber and Kulongoski. Unlikely, of course, since the majority of the voting populace has **always** consisted of imports as well. Learn from history, or be doomed to repeat it.

  8. The Republican gubernatorial candidate was anti-gay, anti-environment, anti-choice, pro-gun, and creationist. I’m not voting for that shithead, and he certainly wasn’t “level headed”. Chris Dudley came within a point of beating Kitzhaber in 2010 and likely would have won this time around had he run rather than simply leaving the state after losing.

    Vote Pacific Green, I guess.

  9. “Perhaps Oregon would be different if we tried electing natives of the state instead of imports like Kitzhaber and Kulongoski.”

Kitzhaber was born in Washington State and lived in Oregon since he was 11, so it’s not like he moved here in his 40s to run for office. It’s a pretty extreme example of “nativeness” to claim he’s not a product of Oregon.

Most people seem to remember Tom McCall as a good governor and he was born in Massachusetts. Neil Goldschmidt on the other hand was born in Eugene, so I don’t think it’s necessarily where the people governing this state happened to be born that’s the issue.

  10. i don’t think you’re a newcomer. I think you’re a REPUBLICAN!!! (in which case, you probably wanna leave before we turn you into a gay hipster on a tall bike).

  11. Kithaber started wearing cowboy boots as an affectation, without ever having stepped foot in a cowpie in his life. He really needs those boots now.
