Your recent articles on living cheaply in Portland deeply offend me. Are we supposed to accept a meager lifestyle, a deadend minimum wage job, and canning to supplement our beer funds? How about advice on how to move up in the world? I want to dine at the restaurants that 1%ers go to every night at least once in a blue moon. Not that I don’t admire frugality, I do. But do you really need to turn into some sort of survival guide for the slaves of the service industrial complex? Then again, who am I to bitch . I’m just another slave serving the upper class who run this city. Guess I’ll hunt down some of those $1 beers now

    You’re seriously complaining about representation for the working class. I’ve found myself defending ticket scalpers on this website before, but even I have to wonder WTF?

  4. Ha, those tips aren’t just for us, oh wage slave. Rich people take advantage of them too. I see Beemers in the parking lot at Grocery Outlet all the time. How do you think the rich stay rich? We gotta feed that demographic too, dude. Otherwise how else will their wealth ever trickle down to the likes of us?

  15. The WW is informative,but tries to play it safe. They could be more fun reading if they were more reader friendly. Trying to play it safe, makes them hum drum.

    The people on the street pictures are awful. Usually a miss,with styles they show of Portlands crazy outfits.

    The quality of the paper is cheap,and has a grimy look.

  16. Employment is serfdom. Everyone in The Bible who works for someone else, is called a slave; bankers and merchants therein are condemned. We are supposed to be living in a predominately agrarian society, along with craftsmen to trade with. It’s anytime you let a middle man in there, that you get the problems. This entire high tech society is built with borrowed money and people living over their heads on credit from buying cheap crap manufactured with underpaid, overworked prisoners in extremely polluted cities. If you want to be rich, go invent something useful, or attract a huge crowd to come see you live, in concert, because your recoded CDs will be ripped over the Internet, which is actually good free promotion for artists.

The States and Federal governments claim possession of the vast, majority of land in the United States, while despite the cooked government books and controlled media spin, the World’s economy is in a severe recession. The nation wide, concerted attack on poor, homeless folk, is a further attempt to conceal the reality, while utilizing Hitler’s technique of divide and conquer, garnering majority sentiment against one minority at a time, until the majority has become isolated to a size easier to effectively enslave.

    Instead of putting everybody on welfare, and crowding them into flea bag shelters, how about honoring Common Law, and let people claim a manageable parcel of ranch or farm land?
