The international die-offs are probably unrelated. It could just be a case of isolated incidents that are a regular, natural phenomena that happen with the same frequency every year in different parts of the world. But the inexplicable bird deaths in the south are alarming. It's being reported that these sparrows had no illnesses, and autopsies are revealing internal hemorrhaging. It reminds my of the reports from about a year ago of dozens of beached whales off the California coast line in the immediate wake of Navy sonar tests.
